The resplendent Hanuman thought
about the Ashokavatika, immediately leaped from the wall of the mansion and
proceeded towards the huge enclosure wall, he could witness marvelous woods in
which cluster of Salavruksha, Ashoka,
Champaka, Uddhalaka, Naga, Mango etc.. packed with fruits and flowers as it was
the spring season. Hanuman flew like an
Naracha arrow released from the bow towards the place full of mango trees and
various creepers, several humans were roaming enthusiastically, whole garden
was resounded with the chirping of birds, peacocks and cuckoos, there were cries of
animals and dragon flies, he could witness tall trees, trees full of flowers and
fruits. Hanuman was looking for the elegant
Sita, daughter of King Janaka in the garden.
The trees were relentlessly showering flowers of various colors and
fragrances at the touch of birds flying through the cluster, it poured flowers
on Hanuman who was in the middle of Ashokavatika and resembled like mountain of
flower, and the Earth shone with the flowers of brilliant colors like well ornamented
woman, trees showered fruits along with the leaves and flowers , as if defeated
gambler due to the force of Hanuman who was dashing through the woods, birds
gathered were in search of other branches as it was quivered by the wind. The best trees were crushed by the might of
Hanuman and looked like young women with disheveled hair, disturbed
features. He destroyed the creepers with
his might as if breaking the cluster of clouds on the top of Mount Vindhya,
Hanuman closely observed the pathways decked with diamonds, silver and gold,
beautiful ponds with crystal clear water like nectar and its stairs were
embedded with diamonds, coral, and pearl, crystals and precious stones, full of
flowers of lilies and lotuses, resounded by the chirping of Chakravaha birds,
waterfalls, swans and cranes, it was surrounded
by tall trees and creepers, Santhanaka and Karaveera trees with full of
flowers and shrubs, there were numerous wells in various pattern. Hanuman witnessed various peaks in a
marvelous mountain and caves which was covered by trees, waterfall from the
mountain resembled like young maiden leaped down from the lap of her lover and
detained on the floor by her relatives, shortly returning to her lover with all
force and energies. There was beautiful
pond with the stairs embedded with diamonds and pearls, full of lotus flowers
and cluster of water birds on it, there was marvelous woods and magnificent
mansions created by Vishwakarma, trees with full of flowers and fruits in
beautiful platforms made of gold, whole atmosphere was radiant like sun by the
golden hue of Mount Meru, cluster of Shimshupa trees were produced the sound of
twinkling of bells at the current of air, Hanuman with his powerful arms
climbed up the Shimshupa tree which was full of flowers and covered him under
the leaves, he spoke softly “ If I have God’s grace, I will definitely see
Sita, who is affectionate to Rama,
moving around inside the garden in extreme grief. This garden is well decorated with the trees
of Champaka, Sandal and Vakula by the evil minded Ravana. There are beautiful ponds full of graceful birds;
Sita will definitely visit these ponds.
Sita who is dear to Rama, chaste and attractive wife of Rama would love
to be in the woods, Janaki, daughter of King Janaka who has the eyes of deer,
shrunken at the separation from her beloved husband Rama, will definitely visit
this place. The ever youthful wife of
Rama will perform the rite at the time of sunset; she will definitely come to
the river to perform the same. Ashokavatika
is well suited for Sita, who has the face resemblance to moon, auspicious one
and wife of Rama who is the King of the Kings.”
In this way, Hanuman absorbed in various thoughts and well covered
himself under the cluster of leaves, began to watch the surroundings
thoroughly.
