Hanuman who was in meticulous
search for Sita, gradually moved to a pleasure garden where he could find the
houses made of creepers, houses embellished with art works, house for
passionate sport etc…but unfortunately he could not find Sita anywhere in that palace.
Hanuman wrapped up in serious thoughts “ I did not find Sita anywhere in
the palace after meticulous search, in that case she must have died, Sita who
always observes austerities and follow chastity must have killed by the evil
doer Ravana or daughter of Janaka must have died out of fear after witnessing
the dreadful appearances of the wives of Ravana. I will not go to meet Sugriva without the
information of Sita and the time has already lapsed after wandering in the
woods with the Vanaras. Sugriva will
definitely impose severe punishments on me.
I have searched thoroughly in the City of Lanka, I have seen the women
of Ravana but I did not find the chaste woman Sita, all my efforts have gone
futile. If I go back to the Vanaras who
are waiting for me in the woods, what would I say? They will definitely enquire
about tasks I have performed in search of Sita.
The time has passed already; they will be in trouble too. What will be the response of Jambavan who
proposed me to cross the ocean of hundred Yojanas ? What will be the reaction of Angadha and
Vanaras? The absence of anguish and hopelessness is the greatest state of
comfort and whatever actions are made at that moment would be fruitful, self-determination
is the highest support for the performance of any deed. I will conduct meticulous search without any distress
and will continue search in those places in the province of Ravana which I have
not visited yet. I have conducted search
in Panashala/place to consume intoxicated drinks, Pushpagruha/flower house,
Chithrashala/Art house, Kridagruha/pleasure house, pathways in the huge garden
and mansions located in all directions.
Further Hanuman decided to search in the tunnels, streets and small
houses in all intersections; lakes, wells, he wandered through all the streets,
climbing over the walls, stuffing himself inside the homes etc…he could see
numerous demons of horrific appearances but not sita. He witnessed the gorgeous women of Vidhyadharas
who are the matchless beauty, Naga women of beautiful physique who were
forcefully abducted by Ravana. Gradually
Hanuman who has powerful arms, son of Lord Vayu became disappointed in not
finding Sita after a scrupulous search, he thought all his efforts to cross the
vast ocean has gone waste and extremely besieged with grief.
