On
the next day, at the early hours of dawn King Dhasharatha who was extremely delightful
with his preceptors and relatives, spoke to his minister Sumanthra “ Let the
treasurers keep possession of ample wealth in the form of gems, precious
ornaments and various precious things used to offer from the family of
bridegroom for marriage, and advise them to travel in advance. Let the fourfold army of warriors assemble
from various places and move forward with marvelous palanquins. Keeping the illustrious Sages Vashishta,
Vamadeva, Jabali, Kashyapa, Markandeya and Sage Kathyayana at forefront,
followed by me in my royal carrier. The messengers
of King Janaka are already hurrying me to arrange for the travel without any delay.” As ordered by King Dhasharatha, the fourfold
army was arranged with various palanquins, keeping the revered Sages at forefront
King Dhashratha followed them in his royal carrier. After four days of travel King Dhashratha
arrived at the outskirt of the City of Mithila,
upon the arrival of the Emperor of Ayodhya, King Janaka arrived to
welcome him. King Janaka was in a state
of ecstasy upon the arrival of Emperor Dhasharatha, prominent Sages and the
people arrived for the marriage; he immediately hastened the preparation for
the marriage. King Janaka delightfully
spoke “ Oh! Narashreshta, we heartily welcome you and you will be elated to witness
the achievements made by the Raghavas with their valor. I am fortunate to witness Godly Sage
Vashishta with eminent Sages like Lord Indra with the deities. All the obstacles I have been experienced
were disappeared by the arrival of Godly sages and my lineage has attained
eternal glory by the union with the virtuous Raghavas who are extremely valorous
among the warriors. Oh! Narendra, You
are the foremost among the Ikshvaku Dynasty, you are the Lord Indra among the
Kings on Earth, it will be appropriate for you to conduct the Vedic ritual for
the marriage in the morning after discussing with the Rishis. ” King
Dhasharatha replied after listening to King Janaka, “ Oh! Dharmajjya, we will follow
your words.” King Janaka was overjoyed
at the cordiality of King Dhasharatha in following the principles of marriage,
all those Sages assembled in the Mithila expressed their joy in the association
of Sage Vashishta and the prominent Sages and they spent that night in extreme
delight. Rama along with Lakshmana,
keeping Sage Vishwamithra at forefront arrived to meet King Dhasharatha and
offered his obeisance. King Dhasharatha
who was venerated by King Janaka was highly rejoiced after witnessing the Raghavas. The resplendent King Janaka, who has the
profound knowledge of scriptures and Veda, performed the initial ceremony of
two daughters, on that night he went to sleep keeping his palm on chest.
