The
emissaries of King Janaka took three nights travelling on the horse back and
they reached all exhausted in the city of Ayodhya. They entered the pathways of the fortress,
with the permission they entered into the royal chambers where they could
witness the elderly King Dhasharatha who has the resemblance of a deity. All the emissaries with their palms folded in
reverence mellifluously spoke “ Oh! Maharajan,
King Janaka of Mithila enquired the wellbeing of your highness, your
family priests and preceptors and your subjects. King Janaka of Vidheha with the consent of
Koushika, would like to inform that your valorous son Rama who has arrived with
Sage Vishwamithra and Lakshman won his daughter Sita who is the bounty of
bravery, after the successful performance with the divine bow which was
impossible to carry even for the mighty Kings who were present. He triumphantly wielded the bow and stretched
the string to examine its firmness, eventually broke the divine bow into two
before the grand assembly. As promised
earlier by the King Janaka, Sita will marry the valorous bride-groom the noble
Rama and he requests your consent for the same.
Oh! Maharajan, he wishes you
should make a visit with your royal priest Sage Vashishta and Preceptors to
witness Raghavas. Oh! Rajendra, he
earnestly request you to make his promise come true and you will be highly
pleased to witness your sons, even Sage Vishwamithra and Sage Shathananda
desires the same.” Thus the emissaries conveyed the messages of Vidheha
Adhipathi King Janaka to King Dhasharatha who was extremely pleased, replied to
Sage Vashishta, Vamadeva and the ministers assembled “Rama, provider of extreme
delight to Kousalya is residing in the Kingdom of Vidheha with Lakshmana and
Sage Vishwamithra. The virtuous King
Janaka would like to offer his daughter as bride to Raghava, after witnessing
his gallantry. If you all favor to this
matter, we will proceed to the city of Mithila as early as possible.” The ministers and the sages assembled
revealed their immense delight and decided to leave on the very next day to
Mithila. The ministers of the King
Janaka were received with great honor and they all overjoyed at the successful
completion of their mission, stayed that night in the city of Ayodhya.
