Sage Shathanandha continued “ Oh ! Raghava, Whenever Sage Vishwamithra remember the unpleasant incident took place between him and the virtuous Sage Vashishta, who is  supreme ascetic, he releases a sigh of extreme distress and exasperation.  Sage Vishwamithra along with his wife moved into the serene land located on the southern part and underwent severe penance by consuming fruits and rooted vegetables.   In the meantime, Sage Vishwamithra begot four virtuous offspring, Havishspandha, Madhushyandha, Dhrudanethra and Maharatha.  Sage Vishwamithra continued severe austerities for one thousand years praying to Lord Brahma.  At last, Lord Brahma was pleased at the austerities and appeared before the Sage Vishwamithra, son of Kushika and honored him with the title ‘Rajarishi’ and returned to his Abode and the deities into the Abode of Lord Indra.  Sage Vishwamithra was disappointed; he was least satisfied with the honor of Lord Brahma, in heart of hearts he felt that his severe penances were turned into fruitless by recognizing him as Rajarishi, further he decided to undergo severe penance.   In the meantime, King Thrisanku of Ikshvaku dynasty who was righteous and has perfect control over senses approached Sage Vishwamithra.  Oh! Raghava, King Thrisanku had a thought to perform a Yagna to depart to heaven with his mortal body; he appealed the same to Sage Vashishta.  But King Thrisanku was deeply disappointed at the words of Sage Vashishta, he proceeded to the southern part where he met hundred virtuous sons of Sage Vashishta who has the effulgence by severe asceticism.  King Thrishanku offered obeisance with folded palms before the righteous sons of Sage Vashishta and spoke “I am seeking protection from you, Sage Vashishta has refused me.  I offer my salutations to you, I wish to perform a Mahayagna and I would like all the sons of my Preceptor Sage Vashishta should take part in it.  I bow my head down before your supreme asceticism and earnestly pray to perform the Yagna on behalf of me, so that I can attain the heavenly abode with my mortal coil.  Oh! Ascetically rich Brahmin, I am extremely dissatisfied by Sage Vashishta, I don’t except the same from you too.   You all aware that royal priest is the ultimate resort for the Kings of Ikshvaku dynasty, therefore I appeal before you all as most reverential next to Sage Vashishta.”
