Sage Shathananda continued “ Oh! Rama, Sage Vishwamithra left the northern parts of Mount Himalaya and arrived at the eastern part and continued severe austerities.  Oh! Rama, Sage Vishwamithra undertook the vow of silence for thousand years, which was impractical and impossible for others.   Oh! Rama, In this way, Sage Vishwamithra completed thousands of years remained silent like a wood, his heart was unblemished, there was no sense of anger with the power of asceticism and he remained determined.  Oh! Rama, after completion of rigorous austerities for thousand years, Sage Vishwamithra prepared to consume meal, at that moment Lord Indhra disguised in the form of a Brahmin and requested for meal.  Sage Vishwamithra readily offered the entire meal to the Brahmin, and remained unaffected by the hunger.  Sage Vishwamithra observed the vow of silence with good breathe control for another thousand years, gradually fumes started to emit from the head of the Sage due to the extreme control of breathe, and the three worlds were startled.  At this moment,  Devarishis, Gandharvas, Pannagas, Uragas, Rakshasas, etc…were realized the supremacy of Sage Vishwamithra’s supreme asceticism, they all approached Lord Brahma and addressed “ Oh! Pithamaha, Sage Vishwamithra has achieved supreme control over his passions and anger with the power of greatest of asceticism.  He has become flawless, if he has not attained his genuine desire, he will destroy the entire world with the power of his asceticism.  Oh! Brahman, all the directions has turned out chaotic, oceans are turbulent, and mountains are bursting out and there is no brightness is visible.  The earth is extremely quaking, air is quavering and the people have become nonbelievers/nasthikas.  All the living beings in the three worlds has mystified and highly perturbed, Lord Bhaskara/Aditya has lost his brilliance due to the power of asceticism of Sage Vishwamithra.  He has become the personification of Lord Agni, before he prepares for the total destruction of the Universe, he should be conciliated before he annihilates the three worlds with the Kalagni, and he should be calmed down and should be provided with whatever he had desired. ” Eventually, all the deities with Lord Brahma appeared before Sage Vishwamithra and spoke “ Oh! Brahmarishey, welcomes you.  We are pleased with your rigorous penance; in this manner you have achieved the highest of the honor.” Sage Vishwamithra was highly pleased and earnestly prayed “If I have attained the Brahman-hood, let AUM Kara, Vashatkara and Veda do stand with me.  Let the superior among the Kshatriyas, scholars of Veda, Sage Vashishta, brain child of Lord Brahma acknowledge me as Brahamarishi.”  The deities invited Sage Vashishta and both the Sages were made peace with each other, Sage Vashishta approved Sage Vishwamithra “you are a Brahmarishi and everything will amass to you with the sublimity of the honor of the title” and the deities bade fare-well to the Sages.  Oh! Rama, in this way, Sage Vishwamithra attained the highest of honor with his supreme asceticism; he became the embodiment of asceticism and remained righteous and courageous.”  Sage Shathananda concluded the myth of Sage Vishwamithra to Rama and Lakshmana.  King Janaka with folded hands spoke to Sage Vishwamithra “ Oh! Son of Sage Kushika, I am truly fortunate to have you along with the legatee of Kakustha Rama and Lakshma for the Vedic – ritual.  I have attained highest of pieties by mere glance of you, I have sanctified by your glance.  Oh! Mahathman, I and Rama heard of your rigorous practice of asceticism in detail from Sage Shathananda.  Oh! Kushikathmaja, the assembled Sages and Rishis are well aware of your innumerable virtues, splendor of your asceticism and prowess.  Oh! Vibho, I am extremely enchanted to listen to your legend, the time has arrived for the performance of ritual as advised by the priests, therefore I request you to permit me to take a leave and It will be appropriate to meet you tomorrow morning.” Sage Vishwamithra was pleased at the humble words of King Janaka and immediately bade-farewell to him.  King Janaka along with his preceptors and family circumambulated Sage Vishwamithra reverentially.  Sage Vishwamithra along with Rama and Lakshman took leave from the ritual hall while the entire Sages and Rishis assembled were worshiped him.
